Large-scale contemporary circus inspired by the symbolic universe of Guernica
Coming soon
Synopsis
K.OS is born from the need to remember through the body. The piece takes cubism, the bombing of Gernika and the imagery of Picasso's Guernica as a starting point to reflect on violence, exile, loss and human resistance. Through contemporary circus, dance and an original score it offers a visual and emotional experience connecting the past with today's conflicts.
In K.OS a cast of performers brings the symbols of the famous painting to life: the dove, the bull, the horse, the soldier, the mother holding her child and the women of the lamp, the lament and the kneeling figure. The show opens with a young woman finding a box of letters that were never sent. Each letter reveals a story of loss, flight, war and resistance, in a black-and-white aesthetic full of greys and nuance.
