K.OS
K.OS is a contemporary circus work inspired by Picasso’s Guernica. Created and premiered at the 5th Juana Bizkarra Performing Arts Residency (Getxo, September 2025), it is now set to grow into a larger-scale production.
The performers embody living symbols of the painting: the dove, the bull, the horse, the soldier, the mother, the women of the lamp, the cry, and the kneeling figure. The piece opens with a granddaughter who discovers a box of letters that were never sent.
Each letter unveils a story of loss, flight, war, and resistance. The work merges acrobatic movement with poetic narration, in a stark black-and-white aesthetic — wordless, yet filled with cries. An emotional journey through the horrors of war and the tenderness of survival.
With the 90th anniversary of the bombing of Guernica approaching, the piece takes on a powerful new relevance: a poetic and acrobatic journey that transforms the horror of war into living memory on stage.
